Here we go, we have a COVID-19 page now too.
Following advise from the Scottish Canoe Association (SCA), Mountaineering Scotland, the Scottish Government and the World Health Organisation (WHO) we have set up some rules for our trips and courses. We also saw the need to add some clauses to the terms and conditions to protect our customer’s interests and wellbeing as well as Unexplored Scotland itself.
Changes to T&C:
We always make sure to clean all equipment between our trips and courses. However, should you be concerned about your own health and wellbeing we would advise you to bring your own equipment as much as possible.
To make sure that everyone on a course/trip with Unexplored Scotland feels safe we undergo an LFD (Lateral Flow Test) 24 hours before the starting time.
We would also ask any participant to do the same. LFD tests are free for any UK residents and you can order them via the link below or search “rapid flow test near me” on the web.
I would also ask people to take the test even if everyone is from the same household.
We will not be able to give anyone a lift to a starting or finish point. We would like to ask people to have their own transport.
When out on wild camping trips (mostly sea kayaking) food and utensils may be provided by us. All plates, mugs and cutlery are colour coded and people are advised to stick with one colour for the duration of the trip. Tents will only be shared with people from the same household. We will also bring some disinfectant spray and cloth with us to clean certain equipment if necessary.
