Here we go, we have a COVID-19 page now too.
Following advise from the Scottish Canoe Association (SCA), Mountaineering Scotland, the Scottish Government and the World Health Organisation (WHO) we have set up some rules for our trips and courses. We also saw the need to add some clauses to the terms and conditions to protect our customer’s interests and wellbeing as well as Unexplored Scotland itself.
Changes to T&C:
I would like to point out that Unexplored Scotland is just a one-man-band. It has been a hard year for any outdoor business as it is and in most cases, we are all strapped for money.
Please only book on a course or trip if you are sure that you can accept those terms and conditions. Currently, the government support is limited and I won’t be able to refund people if a course or trip is not going ahead. I will however always honour a payment and will be more than happy to reschedule.
We always make sure to clean all equipment between our trips and courses. However, should you be concerned about your own health and wellbeing we would advise you to bring your own equipment as much as possible.
We strongly advise people booking on courses for 2020 and into early 2021 to get a “Superior Travel Insurance” that covers cancellations due to COVID19 government advise. Currently, the following insurers offer cover in case of travel restrictions due to lockdown or government advise.
AXA Direct Travel Insurance
Halifax – URCA Travel Insurance
We will not be able to give anyone a lift to a starting or finish point. We would like to ask people to have their own transport.
When out on wild camping trips (mostly sea kayaking) food and utensils may be provided by us. All plates, mugs and cutlery are colour coded and people are advised to stick with one colour for the duration of the trip. Tents will only be shared with people from the same household. We will also bring some disinfectant spray and cloth with us to clean certain equipment if necessary.
