Ben Nevis

From: £70.00

There are many ways to the summit of Ben Nevis. We at Unexplored Scotland always try to ascent the mountain through alternative routes and never via the tourist path.

1345 metres of rock and the highest point in the UK. You could easily figure that this is the reason why Ben Nevis is so busy on a good day. It really is just a question on how to get up there. Generally, we use 3 different ways to the summit.

This is most certainly the most exciting way to discover Ben Nevis. It also is the longest route. Don’t get fazed by it though. It’s really worth it. The views to the north face are something to remember and take some photos of. You can make out all the classic ridges from Carn Mor Dearg and you do 2 Munros instead of just one.

Coire Leis
Kind of between the first two walks in the relation of endurance. However, it is not going to disappoint with the views and scenery. You get a close up look to the north face, walk passed the C.I.C. Hut and admire tower ridge close up. On the way down it’s easiest to pick up the highway and scoot down the Pony Track.

Four ladies, looking for a challenge, asked Andreas to guide them up Ben Nevis, the non tourist way. We had a fantastic trip. He took us to the opposite side of the mountain to the usual route and we climbed up from the North Face car park via Corrie Liese. We met only four people on our way up, and it was a shock to see so many others at the top. It was beautiful and varied terrain. There was no trail to follow and we could never have completed this route on our own.
Andreas was a good companion, supportive, knowledgeable and sociable. We would highly recommend him. It made all the difference to our Ben Nevis experience.
