The BCU White Water Award Assessment in kayaking allows you to take part at river kayaking trips in moderate water (Grade 2) in a lead group. This will prove to any kayaking leader that you are proficient to paddle in those conditions. After successful completion of the assessment, you will receive a certificate from the Scottish Canoe Association.

At Unexplored Scotland, we always strive to give everyone a relaxing and enjoyable experience. This is no exception with our BCU White Water Award (formerly known as 3 Star White Water Kayak)assessments. We will make sure to give everyone a chance to complete and pass the course.
Previous experience in kayaking on grade 2 rivers is essential and you should be comfortable to tackle any rapids and make the right safe and fun decisions.

Inverness
9:00am
The assessment will be done near Inverness, most likely the River Ness. This allows the assessor to see all the skills required for a pass.
Meet up in Inverness and drive to the starting location.
After kitting out and running the shuttle we will get on the water and start the assessment.
The assessment should be complete by mid afternoon. Afterwards we meet up for a review.
