2 Days
Availability : May - September
Ullapool
Min Age : 15
Max People : 5

The Summer Isles is a small archipelago near Ullapool. The islands have a stunning coastline with sea cliffs and caves. You are less likely to see wildlife but you might be lucky to spot some seals, dolphins or otters. The 2-day trip is ideal for intermediate sea kayakers but can also be undertaken by beginners. If conditions allow, there will be a night camping on an island.

Tour Details

The Summer Isles are some remote islands near the idyllic harbour town of Ullapool. On this 2-day sea kayaking Summer Isles trip you will discover some scenic islands with a rugged coastline and some great wildlife. On all sea kayaking tours, you will be able to explore some of the most remote areas in the country. We also provide you with more and better quality kit than everyone else out there. Each island around the Summer Isles have their own little gem. There are many sea cliffs and some caves you can paddle into. The Summer Isles are a bit sheltered, therefore you should be able to spot seals, porpoises or whales, due to the sheltered location of the islands.

Sea Kayaking Tour Summer Isles

On the first day of the sea kayaking Summer Isles trip, you will paddle along some beautiful islands. On Tanera More, the largest of the Summer Isles is the old post office where you can enjoy a nice cuppa and homemade cake. All money taken in by the old post office is going to charity. Tanera Beag, the smaller neighbour is an uninhabited island with some beautiful caves on the south side. There are many great camping spots. One of the more favourite ones we use is at a nice beach on Isle Ristol. The second day should see some more sea kayaking and if the weather allows a trip to the sea cliffs near Reiff.

The food we provide is mostly fresh because we like to make sure that every aspect of the sea kayaking tour is enjoyable. With a good weather forecast, we also offer a barbecue. Every morning we offer freshly made cappuccino or loose leaf tea. We can also make egg rolls or you can have a more simple breakfast if you choose so. There is still plenty to see on the final day and the scenery might change on the way. The sea kayaking Summer Isles trip should be finished by mid-afternoon.

Camping

On our 2-day sea kayaking journey, we will always go wild camping. We will aim to camp on one of the Isles.
