The capital of the Highlands of Scotland is situated in a good central location. From there you can use the city as a hub to explore the rest of the Highlands.
It is also a great location for river kayaking, low-level hillwalking and some great sea kayaking in the Moray Firth. The firth has the largest population of bottlenose dolphins in Europe and is estimated to be around 300 of them.
