To find your way around a mountain without getting lost is one of those essential skills required in wild places like the Highlands of Scotland. The weather can change at a moments notice. Sometimes the terrain has few features to go by too. It is always good to know where you are and how to interpret a map to pinpoint your location.

On a navigation course, you will learn how to read maps properly, count steps to measure distances, time your speed and walk on a compass bearing.

Please contact us if you can’t find the right tour or dates.

Tour Details

How reliable is your navigation in the hills and do you use more than a map and compass to get yourself up and down a hill? Do you know what missing contour lines are? Find out more on our one-day navigation course. We can teach you how to navigate in the Scottish hill down to about the finest details of your map. And we only use map and compass to get ourselves from A to B. Have a look at what skills you can pick up when you pick our navigation brains.

We hope this gives you a hint of what we deliver. By the end of the day, you will have learned all the skills you need to be a good navigator in the hills and don’t depend on others to do that part.

Can’t find the right date or trip? Simply contact us and we will try our best to organise a different date for you.
