Last weekend would be the first time this winter when I didn’t have to battle into the wind and we even managed to have lunch breaks. On Saturday we went into Coire Ciste and did some of the slipping, tripping and sliding skills, while on Sunday we walked into Coire an t-Sneachda for all the other basic winter skills. As this was a 5 day course we had a good look at rope work on Monday. We went up to Ciste Mhearad on Tuesday to dig a snowhole. The snow was superb for digging that day and we were done and moved in after 2 1/2 hours. The next morning we watched an amazing sunrise from the summit of Cairngorm.
